More than 900ft long, Wipeout rises to a height of almost 120ft, reaches speeds of nearly 50mph, and along the way, flips riders upside down no less than three times, while forces of over 5G create an experience normally reserved for jet fighter pilots.
Now, Pleasurewood Hills is one of our valued clients. We helped them to develop an internal database, linked to their website, and to use it in a very successful e-mail marketing campaign. (Watch this space for a full case study, coming soon.) So, when Wipeout was ready to roll, they kindly offered us the opportunity (if that’s the right word) to be among the first to try the ride.
Most of us consulted our diaries, discovered urgent appointments elsewhere, and confined ourselves to experiencing Wipeout by way of the video-clip. (Armchair heroes can do the same by clicking here.) But Account Executive Craig Perry, being made of sterner stuff, took up the challenge - and even claims to have enjoyed it. As he tottered from the ride, his face a whiter shade of pale, we asked him what he thought.
"Absolutely awesome", he said. "Must do it again... sometime."
