The challenge
Members of Real Open Golf get the chance to compete in the UK’s first online amateur golf tournament! By members playing at local clubs and submitting scores online, the winners of each category will secure a place to play 18 holes at the world famous Belfry course. The old website was struggling to generate members, difficult to use and restrictive on content.
Simplicity’s task was to develop a fully functional website, increase and strengthen the company brand as well as provide a powerful platform for data collection and email marketing.
The solution
The implementation of our own Simplicity Content Management System immediately allows the client to update latest news feeds (with full RSS support), monthly golf tips and add frequently asked questions; quickly, easily and without any coding knowledge.
Attached to the website is a fully bespoke member login section. This allows visitors to join up (with automatic online payments), submit latest scores and view the current leaderboards.
As part of building the ROG brand, we advised and assisted the client in targeted data acquisition to commence a series of 5 e-shots as part of an ongoing email marketing strategy. The first mailer will simply introduce the brand, the offer and the chance to find out more. Based on detailed campaign statistics, we can then manage viewers requirements by hitting areas of interest over each subsequent campaign.
The result
In its first month of going live, member subscriptions are already up by 10% on the last two years… this is without any additional online marketing! With a strong sales strategy in place and ongoing email marketing, we aim to build on these figures month on month. With our expertise, and our clients experience, Real Open Golf are on track to make a FORE-tune!
